Hastelloy B3 (UNS N10675 W.Nr.2.4615)

1.Hastelloy B3 Introduction 

Hastelloy B3 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to pitting corrosion, corrosion and stress corrosion cracking and better thermal stability than alloy B-2. In addition, this nickel-steel alloy is highly resistant to knife line and heat-affected zone attacks. HastelloyB3 also withstands sulfuric, acetic, formic and phosphoric acids and other non-oxidizing media. In addition, this nickel alloy has excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at various concentrations and temperatures. The distinguishing feature of Hastelloy B3 is its ability to maintain excellent ductility during transient exposure to moderate temperatures. Such exposure is routinely experienced during thermal processing associated with manufacturing.
